Ingredients:
Basting Sauce:
• 100 ml Maggi Lazenby Worcestershire Sauce
• 60 ml (¼ cup) Maggi Sweet Chilli Sauce
• 100 ml sunflower oil
Hamburgers:
• 1.5 kg lean beef mince
• 2 onions, chopped
• 3 eggs
• 80 ml (⅓ cup) Maggi Lazenby Worcestershire Sauce
• 250 ml (1 cup) soft breadcrumbs
• 6 cloves garlic, crushed
• Salt and pepper
• Oil (if frying)
To Assemble:
• 11 hamburger bread rolls, halved and toasted if desired
• 11 lettuce leaves
• 11 large tomato slices
• Sweet chilli hamburger sauce (see recipe)
Method:
Basting Sauce:
- Mix the ingredients.
Hamburgers:
- Mix the ingredients (except the oil) and shape into 11 hamburger patties, each weighing 130 – 140 g.
- Braai over medium coals, basting frequently with the sauce, until brown on the outside but still slightly pink inside.
- Or heat a little oil in a pan and fry the patties, basting frequently.
To Assemble:
- Put a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of a bread roll, top with a hamburger patty, followed by a tomato slice (or two if the tomatoes are small).
- Spoon a little sweet chilli hamburger sauce on top. Cover with the top half of the bread roll.
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Sweet Chilli Hamburger Sauce:
• Mix 125 ml (½ cup) Maggi Sweet Chilli Sauce and 200 ml mayonnaise.
